Chapter 8
"Queen Attalia"

"My Queen, I have brought the Princess, as you ordered." I heard Alex say. He must've snapped his fingers, because all of a sudden, there were ropes around my wrists, but they weren't very tight.
"Good. Bring her in, a female voice said. Alex walked out the door, and motioned to me.
"Now, I'm going to have to act mean to you in here, because they think that I hate you as much as they do. All right? So don't get offended." Alex whispered to me when I got up to him.
"All right." I whispered back, and followed him into the throne room. I noticed Calypso standing next to Queen Attalia, and she had a smug grin. She mockingly bowed to me and said, "Welcome, Princess." I gritted my teeth and bit my lip to keep from saying anything.
"Come closer." Attalia said, and pointed to a circle of what looked like white chalk. I moved into it. "What do you know about the Jovian Crystal?" she asked.
"Do you want me to be honest?" I replied.
"You little heathen! You will never talk to the Queen like that again!" Calypso yelled, and jumped down from where she stood and landed in front of me. She slapped me on the face, and I set my jaw hard so that I wouldnt say something I shouldnt.
"Calypso! Thats enough!" Attalia said.
"Yes Mother." Calypso replied, and stiffly bowed to her.
"Now, answer my question." Attalia said to me.
"I have never heard of it." I replied.
"You liar." Calypso spat. Behind my back, I clenched my fists together. //Lita, please dont get out of your ropes, please. Thatll just make Calypso even madder. Then the Queen will get mad. And thats not good.// Alex sent me a telepathic message. I slightly nodded my head, and bit my lip. I bit it so hard, that soon, I could taste the small trickle of blood that was coming out of my lip. "Answer her truthfully." Calypso growled.
"I am not lying. I had never heard of it, until Calypso said something about it before I was brought here. I have no idea what it does, or what it actually is. Right now, I wouldnt lie." I said, and looked Attalia straight in the eyes. I saw Calypso get ready to hit me again, so I braced myself.
"Calypso! I said that was enough! Get back to your rightful place!" Attalia said harshly to Calypso.
"Yes Mother. I'm sorry." Calypso replied, and went back to her place beside Attalias throne.
"Well, then I guess Ill have to take it from it from you the hard way." Attalia said, and said something in some weird language. All of a sudden, pain started shooting through my body. I screamed in pain and fell to my knees. I tried to fight against whatever she was doing to me, but I couldnt. I finally gave in. Although my vision was blurred from the pain, I could see a green crystal appear in front of my chest. My breathing was ragged, and my chest heaved up and down. I sat there on my hands and knees staring at the crystal. Then I looked at Attalia.
"So this, this is the Jovian Crystal." Calypso said, and jumped down again, and took ahold of it. All of a sudden, a flash of lightning came out of it and hit Calypso. She flew back a little, and the Jovian Crystal went back in front of me. "What was that?!" she demanded.
"I dont know." I managed to say between ragged breaths.
"I had heard about this, but I didn't know it was true." Attalia murmured.
"What Mother?" Calypso asked, going back up to her place.
"The resistance mechanism inside the crystal. The crystal knows whether it is the rightful owner holding it or not. If it isnt, it strikes it with a lightning bolt. If it is rightful owner, it will activate itself." Attalia said. I just listened in awe. //Alex, did you know about this?// I sent a telepathic message to him.
//No, I didnt. Its very interesting to hear about it.// he sent back. I slightly nodded my head as well as I could. Slowly, the crystal went back into my body.
"Alexander! Take her back to the cell! Attalia said. We have no need for her right now. I will summon for you if I need her again."
"Yes ma'am." Alex said. Alex snapped his fingers, and we appeared back in the cell. I was still breathing heavily and I collapsed right when I appeared. I could see from where I was that Jason had woke up.
"Lita!" Ken gasped when I had fallen. He came running over, and picked me up, and carried me back over to where he had been sitting. He brushed a few stray strands of hair away from my face, and asked me, "What did they do to you?"
"She tried to get the Jovian Crystal from me. She put me through excruciating pain until it appeared. Then, Calypso tried to take it, but it has something like a resistance mechanism that it recognizes whether whoever is holding is the rightful owner or not, and it shocks them, and if it is the rightful owner, itll activate itself. Well, Calypso tried to take it, and it shocked her, then Attalia sent us back." I replied. I took a few deep breaths, and then I started slipping into darkness. The last thing I heard was Ken saying, "Lita! Lita! You ok?!"
